NWFE program aims to mobilize investments worth $14.7B

Arab Finance: Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat held a multi-stakeholder platform meeting with Elena Panova, UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, and Jason Taylor, Acting Mission Director for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt, according to a statement by the International Co-operation Ministry on February 19th.

She briefed them on the latest developments of the ongoing partnership for green projects of the country’s Nexus of Water, Food, and Energy (NWFE) program that includes nine projects with investment of $14.7 billion, $3.5 billion of which in investment for sustainable eco-friendly transport projects.

The meeting is part of a series of joint strategic dialogues between the Ministry of International Cooperation and the Development Partners Group (DPG) in Egypt, headed by the United Nations (UN) and USAID.

Al-Mashat also referred to the joint political declaration issued by Egypt, Germany, and the US during the COP27, which reflects the great international support to the NWFE program, as a model for national platforms aimed at stimulating climate action.
